Thank you for your interest in our PADI Dive Master Scuba Course:

Here under please find the course introduction and detailed break down of the course itself.

Please go through the requirements and schedule and feel free to contact me should you require any further information or to discuss course dates.

Pre-Requisites:

# Be a Certified Rescue Diver
# Supply copies of all certifying diving cards from your dive organization.
# Show proof of 40 logged open water dives to start the course
# Show proof of 65 Logged open water dives before DM certification
# Show a recent medical certificate stating you are “Fit to SCUBA Dive”
# Hold First Aid & CPR certificate issued or renewed within last 24 months.
(If you do not have a first aid / CPR certificate we can run a course for you at an additional cost of R2000 for an Emergency First response certification with O2 Administration and AED – Automatic Electronic Defibrillation training and certification – This will require 4 lectures over 1 weekend)

Required Equipment:

I can provide all equipment as required for the course however a dive master candidate needs to have his own dive computer for safety reasons due to the amount of diving that will be under taken during and after the course. (Diving on tables is not practical at Dive Master Level)

I need to point out from the onset that the Dive Master course is not an easy course, it is quite hectic and stressful but it is still loads of fun because you learn so much!

In all the other courses you did in the past, the instructors aim was to try and push you through the course. In this course there are definite standards that need to be met on a theory and practical level, if you guys are not up to the correct standard by the end of the course I cannot pass you.

You need to keep in mind that at the end of this course you will be a certified as a SCUBA Diving Professional that is qualified as a training assistant and dive leader. Peoples lives will be in your hands which is a HUGE responsibility, I cannot in good conscience put you through if I believe you are not ready as you may endanger your life and the lives of others.

In all other courses your instructors used positive re-enforcement while training however in this course if a skill is not done right you will have to keep trying until you get it right, if you are not focused I am obliged to point it out and I will be hard on you guys during your practical sessions. Please keep in mind at the end of the day this will make you a much more competent dive leader.

I conduct my courses from the point of view that my DM’s are looking to become instructors and I will therefore try and create a very similar training environment to the one you will face in your “IDC – Instructor course” so you have some experience and know what to expect when you start the instructorship.

A PADI Dive Master course is internationally recognised as a professional scuba dive credential and is recognised above any other dive organisations qualifications.

If you guys have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will gladly assist you.
